BLOG #6 WEEK 4, Pt. 2: The Progressive Era

After looking at some articles on Antiwar.com, it's a shame that I never knew this site existed, I like how it has sections for each part of the world that is in conflict. Another thing I noticed about the site that the journalist are against the “Uniparty” globalist politicians that been in office for decades who care about the issues outside the USA than their own country. I believe that mainstream media does not like anti-war views because it goes against their business model, which is to generate clicks and views to make money the goal of any corporation.

Also the United States government is close to these media outlets most pundits align with the “Establishment” which we learn from the Twitter files. I remember when the left aligned with anti-war views and that the right were the warmongers wanting your boys to be sent to die. But I don't know how to feel about the current war in Ukraine Zelenskyy has shut down all opposing political parties because of the war and that does not sound like defending democracy to me. Maybe the American people are content with the government sending billions of dollars instead of American soldiers we are seeing some push back but not in the amount it used to be years ago. I just hope tensions don't escalate more, the threat of nuclear weapons being used grows when the other side gets desperate. Nuclear technology has improved in the past few decades even “small” nuclear missiles can have a lasting impact on the environment causing people to relocate.

Throughout American history American was Isolationist not getting into conflicts in Europe unless it affect them financially or Americans safety. Just ever since we sent troops to Iran spending a trillion dollars for what? I can't imagine how that money spent could change the USA Chip fab manufacturing in the USA than relying on TSM (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd) fixing the water in flint and so much more. I think it's much harder to find these kinds of websites because I feel it's the same thing happening to YouTube. A couple of years ago if you searched up a news topic independent content creators would be in the search results than in 2018 (I think) YouTube created a new system to prop up “authoritative sources”. Which are legacy media outlets to block out independent voices that go against a narrative from the mainstream media.
